Habits to always be full of energy
Going for a walk outside, swimming in the sea, eating less sweets or drinking enough water, … will help you have a refreshing day.
Here are simple habits that we can easily incorporate into our lifestyle to feel refreshed and energized every day.
Stop drinking alcohol
Can you not drink much for a week? Try drinking only on special occasions, rather than every day. Alcohol can put you to sleep, but it makes you unable to sleep deeply and leaves you tired the next day.
Eat brain foods
Foods high in sugar and calories make us feel tired. Recharge your body with energy-rich foods like bananas, salmon, spinach, almonds, eggs, and avocados. Making smart choices can keep us awake all day.
Exercise helps us regenerate energy. The idea of getting up and working out may seem daunting, but just 20 minutes of activity, three times a week, can help reduce fatigue.
To create this good habit, practice with a friend. Go for a brisk walk or join an exercise class.
Working in natural light
Natural light keeps us awake. So, if you have a choice of seat in the office, you should choose near the window. If this is not possible, go outside during breaks to recharge.
Take frequent breaks
Try to take time for yourself every 30 minutes or so. You can just take a glass of water, breathe in the fresh air. It makes you more alert and focused.
Go to bed early
Sleep quality and health go hand in hand. Having a good night’s sleep means you can wake up feeling refreshed for the day. Should go to bed early, from 8 pm, even if you are missing the last episode of a good movie.
Drink enough water
Water is important for digestion and regulating appetite. We often mistake hunger for thirst. So keep a glass of water with you all day.
Don’t drink energy drinks because those that contain a lot of sugar raise blood sugar levels, causing lethargy or drowsiness.
Start your day with light exercise
This is a great way to boost energy. Walk or jog, do a few lunges or star jumps (jumping from standing with arms and legs closed to standing with arms and legs facing out) before showering.
More oxygen and more happiness hormones are produced, which increases mood and energy.
Give your phone a break
Recent studies show that turning off technology – even for just an hour – has a positive effect on our energy. Try to set aside time each week to get away from your phone and laptop.
Going for a walk outdoors or swimming in the sea will help re-energize the body, mind and soul.
